2012 Washington Cherry Festival Scheduled for May 30-June 2

The 2012 Cherry Festival is almost here!

This year's Theme is School Spirit! This year the festival kicks off on Wednesday, May 30th with teh Community Nigh Dinner - Sponsored by Heartland Bank and Trust, a performance by the WCHS Jazz Band, and local non-profits in teh merchant tent. There will be a baggo tournament in the Festival Beer Garden. Dan Phillips teh Antique Appraiser will also return this year on Wednesday.

Thursday Night will be our Christian Concert Series sponsored by South Side Bank. with the popular Shade Tree back again! It's also Teen Night. And the ever popular ARMBAND NIGHT for the carnival. Armbands can be purchased at the Chamber Office on May 29th and 30th. Advanced armbands will be on sale for $15.00. A $5.00 savings! Armband sales run from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on both Tuesday and Wednesday before the carnival. 

Friday, everyone's FAVORITE CHERRY TACOS will be served. It is also OSF St. Francis Honor Roll Student Day. The Good Neighbor Award will be presented. FIREWORKS sponsored by Washington Community Bank and Uftring Chevy Washington will be shot off at dusk. Followed Kasino Band on the main stage.

Saturday is an action packed day with the Rotary Pancake Sausage Breakfast, the Washington Park District 5K Run and 1K Fun Walk, the Cherry Disc Golf Tournament at Washington Park, the Family Bike Ride, Official Cherry Festival Cook-Off (On Festival Grounds this year), the Kiddie Tractor Pull, Armband Day from 1:00-4:00, Crafts on the Square, Cherry Pie Eating Contest and Cherry Pit Spitting Contest. And back this year is Kidz Got Talent, only we moved it to Saturday to allow for an even bigger crowd! Teh night will end with Cadillac Jack on the main stage.
