Fondulac Park District…Splashdown Water park is currently accepting applications for summer employment. Several positions are available in life guarding, customer service, and concessions. Can Do 4:13 Scholarship Fund... will hold the 5th Annual Art Sale and Social on Friday, May 30th, 5:30-8 pm at the Embassy Suites in East Peoria (new location!). There will be a contribution/admission fee - free appetizers/cash bar. All artwork on sale has been created by the 4th Grade Irving School Students participating in the Can Do 4:13 Scholarship program. 100% of the proceeds go directly toward their scholarships. This is one of two main fundraisers for the Can Do 4:13 Scholarship Fund which promises $1000 to 4th grade students at Irving Primary School who graduate high school and go on to higher education. Over 12,000 people came out in support of Goodwill during the Bergner’s Goodwill Sale, with donations up 17% from the same event last spring. Shoppers at five area Bergner’s stores gave 77,760 pounds of gently used items to Goodwill in exchange for Bergner’s coupons. In conjunction with the 12 day event, Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois also provided coupons to donors choosing to drop off items at a convenient Goodwill store or donation center. CEFCU …CEFCU has partnered with the BALANCE Financial Fitness Program to provide counseling and education to members. BALANCE provides the members of partnering credit unions with free financial education and counseling programs. Young Life of Central Illinois …On May19, 2008, Young Life and BAIRD (The Glatz Group) will be hosting their annual Golf Classic at Arrowhead Country Club. This fundraiser helps to support their ministry which includes a Washington Senior High Club – 9th through 12th grade and Washington WyldLife club which includes 7th and 8th graders. They also have clubs in Morton, Peoria, East Peoria, and Dunlap. The day starts at 12 – 1:00 with a Cookout Lunch featuring brats and burgers from Rocke's Meating Haus - Shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. (scramble format) and then concludes with a dinner featuring Rocke’s grilled beef tenderloin. Raffle prizes and golf awards will be given. The entry fee includes a donation, green and cart fees, driving range, refreshments on the course, gifts, prizes, lunch and dinner.
